After 30 years of work experience as a writer and photographer, Rikard Westman has turned his interest towards acting and directing. In 2022 he took the Cinemantrix one year education as a film actor, consisting mainly of workshops with industry household names such as Lukas Loughran, Bob Dolman and Marina Svala Nyström. He has since participated in workshops with Ken Michelman and Emelie Nyman.
In April 2022, as a part of the Cinemantrix programme, he directed, DOP:ed and acted in the short film The Dress Code, subsequently awarded Best Film in the DMOFF festival, apart from numerous honorable mentions and official selections in other.
In February 2023, he directed and DOP:ed his own short film Daddy's Gonna Die, currently in post-production. In early 2024, he ca-wrote directed the short Homeless. In late 2024, he co-wrote and acted in the short Heritage.
His main goal is to establish himself as an actor.
